The worked wood study and registered object collection, as well as current finds of worked wood objects from the season (2008) were examined from the perspective of wood species identification. A total of 568 objects was studied and 85% of the assemblage was identified to species. 438 pieces (some 77%) proved to be of local Egyptian wood, mainly tamarisk and sycamore. Other native species of wood were represented sporadically.
